This ministry funnel enables you to diagnose the capacity of your ministry to grow and make strategic changes to correct an abundance or shortage of leaders.
The yellow boxes are the five different groups within a ministry, and the light gray boxes in between are Friction Points, or places where in order for a person to grow and develop they must exert energy in a specific manner to expand their leadership capacity and increase their alignment.
The funnel seeks to produce a lifelong missional leader:
- Lifelong suggesting a deep character change that is irreversible
- Missional suggesting a heart and abilities connected to the Great Commission
- Leader suggesting the skills needed to influence others.
Masses:
- Your scope or target audience. Those not yet involved in your ministry.
- This group is characterized by their attendance, and in order for them to develop they need to EXPLORE the various parts of your ministry structure.
Laborers:
- Involved but not committed.
- This group is characterized by their participation, and in order for them to develop they need to LEARN the why’s behind the various parts of your ministry structure.
Emerging Leaders:
- Those who have the ability to lead in both character and skill but do not yet have a title.
- This group is characterized by their commitment, and in order for them to develop they need to SERVE within the various parts of your ministry structure.
Leaders:
- Those who are authorized to lead the ministry by the staff/full-time team.
- This group is characterized by their alignment, and in order for them to develop they need to MULTIPLY their heart and skills throughout the various parts of your ministry structure.
CORE:
- Those responsible for setting direction and making decisions in light of the whole, and the future.
- This group is characterized by their vision, and in order for them to develop they need to EMPOWER others within the various parts of your ministry structure.
